The 69th Barrel Cocktail

What you’ll need
Ingredients
- Vat 69 or any other scotch of choice60ml
- Star Anise2
- Apple juice45ml
- Homemade BittersDashes
- Ice Cubes
Method
- Step 1
Fill up a rocks glass with ice.
- Step 2
Using a cocktail jigger, measure the scotch and apple juice before pouring both into the glass.
- Step 3
Add two dashes of homemade bitters and the anise before mixing to combine.
- Step 4
Garnish with a cherry (optional) and serve.
Tips & Suggestions
Opt for a barrel-aged whisky or bourbon since the flavour of the cocktail depends on oak and caramelised notes which can be acquired only from a properly aged dark spirit.
Few drops of barrel-aged bitters work well as they can add depth to the cocktail.
