Keep things uncomplicated while also giving your cocktails variety with this cocktail that gives smoky scotch whisky a fruity effervescence. The essence of a ‘plus two’ is to simply combine The Singleton with equal parts of a fruit juice and an aerated mixer for a total of three equal parts - allowing one to experiment with a variety of flavourful elements.

  • The Singleton (or any single malt of choice)
    30ml
  • Apple juice
    30ml
  • Pear juice
    30ml
  • Soda water
    30ml
  • Mint sprig
    For garnish

Method

  1. Step 1

    Add all ingredients to an ice-filled rocks glass.

  2. Step 2

    Stir to combine.

  3. Step 3

    Garnish with a mint sprig before serving.

Tips & Suggestions

  • For citrus depth, add a few drops of lemon juice; elevate aroma by adding essential oils from zesting a lemon.

  • Use honey or maple syrup for a subtle sweetness; honey adds floral and herbal notes whereas maple syrup adds an earthy and caramel undertone.
