Ingredients
Method

A classic gin-based cocktail made using minimal ingredients, the sweet-tart flavours blend easily with the subtle botanicals of Tanqueray No 10 for an incredibly tasty drink. Simplistic yet versatile, feel free to experiment with a variety of fresh berries and citrus fruits.

What you’ll need

Ingredients

Serves:
1
  • Tanqueray No 10
    30ml
  • Fresh lime juice
    20ml
  • Simple syrup
    15ml
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wheel (optional garnish)

Method

  1. Step 1

Add gin, lime juice, and simple syrup into an ice-filled shaker.

  2. Step 2

Close the lid of the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds to chill and combine all ingredients thoroughly.

  3. Step 3

Strain the mixture into a properly chilled coupe glass to produce a clear, smooth cocktail.

  4. Step 4

Alternatively, garnish with a lime wheel on the rim, then serve immediately.

Tips & Suggestions

  • If fresh lime juice is being used, always fine-strain to remove pulp and avoid cloudiness or unwanted texture in the finished drink.

  • For an authentic Gimlet cocktail, preserved lime cordial must be used rather than fresh juice, as this gives a smoother mouthfeel and clear sweet flavour profile.
