Smoky Mezcal Margarita

Swap tequila for Casamigos Mezcal Joven for this deliciously simple, smoky and sophisticated serve.

Ingredients

How many serves?

2 units of alcohol per serve

1

  • 50mlCasamigos Mezcal

  • 25mlFresh lime juice

  • 20mlAgave nectar

  • Two dashes of orange bitters

  • Flamed orange peel to garnish

Equipment

  • 1 x Rocks glass
  • 1 x Jigger
  • 1 x Cocktail shaker

Method

  • Pour

Using a jigger, measure 50ml of Casamigos Mezcal and combine with all other ingredients in a shaker.

  • Mix

Shake the mixture vigorously in the cocktail shaker until the surface of the shaker feels chilled.

Strain the drink with a cocktail strainer into a rocks glass.

  • Garnish

Add fresh ice to the glass and express natural orange oils from peel over top of cocktail. Lightly char peel and garnish.

  • Top tip

For a less smoky option, decrease the Casamigos Mezcal Joven pour to 30ml and add 30ml of Casamigos Blanco Tequila instead.

  • Grab a bite

Get some grub in before or while you’re drinking – it slows alcohol absorption.
