Classic Old Fashioned Cocktail Recipe

Arguably the world's oldest cocktail, the Old Fashioned is a deceptively simple blend of whiskey, sugar and bitters, and a must for any lover of dark spirits seeking perfection in a glass.

- Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey60ml
- Dashes of Angostura Bitters3
- Demerara Syrup10ml
- Orange peel1
- Splash of soda water1
- Orange slice to garnish1
2.7 units of alcohol per serving
Equipment
- 1 x Rocks glass
- 1 x Jigger
- 1 x Mixing glass
- 1 x Bar spoon
- 1 x Strainer
- Ice
Method
Pour
Muddle sugar, one orange slice (optional), Angostura Bitter and soda water in a rocks glass. Add ice.
Mix
Using a jigger, measure 60ml of whiskey. Add it to the mixture and stir slowly using the bar spoon.
Garnish
Garnish with an orange twist.
