The yin to the martini cocktail's yang, the Manhattan is one of the all-time great classic cocktails, a rich, sweet blend of whisky, vermouth and bitters that’s gently stirred into perfection.
Ingredients

2.5 units of alcohol per serve

50mlWhisky
25mlSweet Vermouth
Dash of Bitters
Maraschino Cherry and Orange peel to garnish
Ice
Equipment
- 1 x Coupe glass
- 1 x Mixing glass
- 1 x Jigger
- 1 x Cocktail shaker
- 1 x Fine strainer
- 1 x Knife
- 1 x Stirrer
- 1 x Skewer
Method
Step 1
Measuring with the jigger, add the whisky and sweet vermouth, along with the bitters, into the mixing glass.
Step 2
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir.
Step 3
Using the strainer, strain the liquid into the coupe glass.
Step 4
Using the knife, cut a slice of orange peel. Slide the peel and cherry onto the skewer and place across the rim of the glass to garnish. Enjoy!
