Spicy Margarita

A spicy take on a classic, this spicy margarita recipe uses fresh chillies and coriander for a fiery but refreshing serve.

Ingredients

How many serves?

2 units of alcohol per serve

  • 50mlCasamigos Blanco Tequila

  • 20mlLime juice

  • 10mlAgave nectar

  • Two slices of fresh red chilli

  • 4 coriander leaves

  • A slice of chilli and lime wedge to garnish

  • Ice

Equipment

  • 1 x Rocks glass
  • 1 x Jigger
  • 1 x Cocktail shaker
  • 1 x Strainer
  • 1 x Spoon

Method

  • Step 1

    Using a jigger, measure all ingredients and add them to an ice-filled shaker, along with the coriander leaves and chilli slices.

    Shake vigorously.

  • Step 2

    Strain into a small rocks glass or margarita coupe.

  • Step 3

    Garnish with a slice of chilli and lime wedge.

  • Top tip

    Don't forget to add a salt rim to your glass!

    Before straining the mixture into it, rub a lime wedge along the edge and coat in salt.

  • Grab a bite

    Get some grub in before or while you’re drinking – it slows alcohol absorption.
