Celebrity-approved cocktails to mix at home
Sip like the stars
Celebrities. They’re just like us. Not in terms of daily schedules. Or access to luxury fashion. Or having millions of followers.
Okay. So they’re nothing like us at all. Except in one very important way. Whether you have 10 million followers or just 10 followers (and that includes your mother and a friend from high school you haven’t seen in 15 years), we all share the simple pleasure of that first sip of a favourite cocktail.
If you’ve ever wondered what your favourite celebrity is ordering, we’ve got you covered - and we’ve got tips on making them at home, and even putting an A-List spin on it.
Taylor Swift’s favourite drink: a French Blonde
Just like her record-breaking Eras tour, Taylor Swift’s tastebuds have been through something of a journey through the years. That is to say, her favourite drink differs.
In her own words, while answering Vogue’s 73 Questions back in 2016, she preferred things nice and simple - a Vodka and Diet Cola.
However, in early 2024, it was reported that the singer visited a restaurant in Kansas and ordered what is alleged to be her new favourite - a French Blonde. An elegant drink, the flavours - like Taylor’s lyrics - are layered. Junipers from a good gin meet the florals of elderflower and the tartness of grapefruit.
You’ll need:
25ml gin (we recommend a Tanqueray for this)
45ml aromatic wine
10ml elderflower liqueur
45ml fresh grapefruit juice
2 dashes of lemon bitters
To make:
For the ultimate serve, start by chilling a coupe glass
Then, measure out and pour all the ingredients except the lemon bitters into a cocktail shaker filled with ice
Shake hard
Strain into your chilled glass and add the lemon bitters
Garnish with a zest of lemon.
If you don't have aromatic wine or elderflower liqueur, the Tanqueray Grapefruit Martini (pictured) is a fresh, citrussy alternative that also features gin and grapefruit juice but without the additional spirits.
Kim Kardashian’s favourite cocktail: the White Russian
Despite the affinity for the letter K, Kim Kardashian’s choice of cocktail is not a Kamikaze or a Kir Royal. The reality star and entrepreneur is reported to love a White Russian.
Surprisingly simple to make, but feeling oh-so luxe thanks to the layering of the creamy notes with the crisp vodka, a White Russian is a decadent treat to whip up in no time.
You’ll need:
60ml Ciroc vodka
two tablespoons of Kahlua
one tablespoon of cream
To make:
In a mixing glass or shaker, combine all three ingredients and give it a gentle stir
Add ice to a rocks or tumbler glass and simply pour the mixture in.

What does Beyonce like to drink? A Mint Julep!
In keeping with the spirit of Houston, Texas - birthplace of the Queen Bey - Beyoncé is known to love whisky. Indeed, she launched her own line in 2024 and, in a press release for it, she revealed “I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky.”
So, keeping true to some classic Americana and whisky vibes, what better suggestion than a Mint Julep? Just like Texan’s finest singer, this drink exudes style and commands your attention.
You’ll need:
50ml Bulleit Bourbon
15ml Demara syrup
10 Mint leaves
To make:
Muddle mint leaves and a splash of water in a rocks glass or julep cup
Add all ingredients and fill glass with crushed ice and stir
Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
The drinks loved by the royals
The Royal Family continue to fascinate people all over the globe, with the traditions and rules they follow that hark back to a different time to their dazzling tiara moments and the endless rumours that swirl around them.
With all eyes on them wherever they go, it’s only right that they are known to love a bit of a tipple behind the palace doors.
Widely reported, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s favourite drink was thought to be a dry Dubonnet and Gin.
You’ll need:
30ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
60ml Dubonnet Rouge
Lemon twist (for garnish)
To make:
Chill a Nick & Nora glass
Measure and pour in the gin and Dubonnet into a mixing glass with ice
Stir well to chill and pour into the chilled glass
Garnish with a lemon slice or twist.
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has been spotted sipping on a pint of Guinness in the past. But it’s been suggested that, every night, Prince William will make his wife a gin and tonic (pictured) for a classic nightcap. Ladies, if the future King can do this, your significant others should take notes...
What about Harry Styles’ favourite cocktail? We reckon he's a Paloma man...
There’s only One Direction Harry Styles heads when it comes to indulging in a tipple, according to a past interview with Rolling Stone, and it’s eyeing the tequila menu.
Per his past comments, Harry would keep things sophisticated and simple, preferring to sip his tequila over ice. We expect something like a Don Julio 1942 would make the most perfect of pours.
If you want a relatively crisp, unfussy tequila inspired drink a la Harry, we recommend sticking to something like a classic Paloma. With a subtle tartness and less prominent flavours than a Margarita, it’s a cocktail that benefits from letting the tequila take centre stage.
You’ll need:
50ml Blanco Tequila
20ml pink grapefruit juice
10ml fresh lime juice
10ml agave syrup
Grapefruit Soda (to top)
To make:
Fill a highball glass with ice
Measure out and add the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice and agave syrup into the glass
Pour the mixture into your glass and top with the grapefruit soda.
Alternatively, to pay tribute to the Watermelon Sugar singer, try a Watermelon Margarita! Combining watermelon syrup, Don Julio Blanco, lime and triple sec, we're sure Harry would approve of this refreshing summery serve.
