It’s like your favourite pumpkin-season drink got dressed up for a Halloween party, and the result is just a tiny bit wicked.

  • Apple juice
    2.5oz
  • Cointreau
    0.5oz
  • Ginger beer
    To top off
  • Pumpkin butter or purée
    A tablespoon
  • Cinnamon
    Half a teaspoon
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
    1
  • Pomegranate juice for the rim
  • Sugar for the rim
  • Ice
2.7 units of alcohol per serving

Equipment

  • Rocks glass
  • Shaker
  • Strainer

Method

Step 1

Dip the rim of the glass into a thin layer of pomegranate juice then dip the glass into the sugar to coat.

Step 2

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the tequila, apple juice, Cointreau, pumpkin butter or purée, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.

Step 3

Give it a vigorous shake for around 30 seconds until the surface feels cold.

Step 4

Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and top up with the ginger beer.
