Simple and elegant, this bubbly botanical drink combines gin, lemon, sugar syrup and Champagne. When it comes to celebratory drinks, you can't go wrong with a French 75.

Lemon Juice
0.5oz
Champagne
Ice cubes
0oz
Lemon peel

2 units of alcohol per serving

Equipment

Champagne flute
Jigger
Cocktail shaker
Strainer
Muddler

Method

Ice

Fill the cocktail shaker with ice.

Mix

Measuring with the jigger, add the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup into the shaker. Shake the mixture until the surface of the shaker feels chilled.

Pour

Use the cocktail strainer to strain the mixture into a champagne flute and top up with champagne.

Garnish

Using the knife, cut a strip of lemon peel and twist onto the rim of the glass to garnish.
