Cross Yu's Kiss Above the Clouds Cocktail Recipe
Based on a Manhattan, Kiss Above The Clouds was created by Cross Yu, China’s Bartender of the Year. It’s rich and warm, smooth yet complex, with a long lasting finish, and garnished with a small homemade side of grilled orange and cinnamon.
What you’ll need
Ingredients
- Johnnie Walker® Gold Label Reserve5ml
- Sweet Vermouth20ml
- Coffee Liqueur5ml
- Chocolate Bitters dash2
- Cinnamon Stick1
Equipment
- 1 x Old Fashioned glass
- 1 x Strainer
- 1 x Knife
- 1 x Bar Spoon
- 1 x Cocktail Shaker
- 1 x Jigger
- 1 x Chopping Board
- 1 x Ice
Method
Ice
Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
Pour
Using a jigger, measure 60ml Dark Rum, 20ml sweet vermouth, 5ml coffee liqueur, 5ml Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve and 2 dashes chocolate bitters into the glass.
Mix
Stir the liquid slowly with a bar spoon until the mixing glass feels chilled. Use a cocktail strainer to strain into an Old Fashioned glass that contains one piece of ice.
Garnish
With a chopping board and sharp knife, cut a twist of orange peel and place over the edge of the glass. Add in a stick of cinnamon to garnish.
