Vodka, gin or whisky, whichever spirit you choose, Collins cocktails are crowd-pleasing and super simple to make. This one uses vodka with fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and sparkling water for a refreshing serve.

What you’ll need

Ingredients

2 units of alcohol per serving

Equipment

  • Collins glass
  • Jigger
  • Spoon
  • Ice

Method

Add

Using a jigger, measure all ingredients and add them to an ice-filled Collins glass.

Stir

Stir gently to combine.

Garnish

Garnish with a lemon wedge.

How to make simple syrup

Stir 1 part white sugar to 1 part warm or boiling water until the sugar is dissolved. Cool before use.

Step 5

Get some grub in before or while you’re drinking – it slows alcohol absorption.
