John Collins

John Collins cocktails are made from Vodka, the Tom Collins is typically made using Gin. Whichever spirit you choose, Collins cocktails are crowd- pleasing and super simple to make.  Use fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and sparkling water. Its clean, crisp taste makes it the ideal sip for dinner parties.

Ingredients

  • 45mlKetel One Vodka

  • 20mlLime juice

  • 20mlSimple syrup

  • 100mlChilled soda water

  • 4Ice

  • 1Lemon wheel

  • 1Cherry

1.8 units of alcohol per serve

Equipment

  • Collins glass

  • Jigger

  • Shaker

  • Strainer

  • Garnish pick

Method

  • Add

    In a cocktail shaker with ice, add all ingredients except the soda.

  • Shake

    Shake for 5-7 seconds, and strain over fresh cubes in a Collins glass.

    Top with chilled soda.

  • Garnish

    Garnish with a lemon wheel and cherry on a pick.

  • 1:1 Simple syrup recipe

    Stir 1 part white sugar to 1 part warm or boiling water until the sugar is dissolved. Cool before use.
