Dutch Mule Cocktail Recipe

If you love the zing of a ginger-forward drink but want something with a slightly lighter, cleaner character, the Dutch Mule is a great twist on its more famous cousin, the classic Moscow Mule. Both drinks feature vodka, fresh lime and spicy ginger beer, but in the Dutch Mule the flavour is less complicated, using simple syrup to balance the citrus and fizz — giving it a smooth, easy-going flavour that’s bright without overshadowing the ginger kick. In contrast, a classic Moscow Mule uses Angostura bitters to level up the herbaceous flavours, and is often served in a copper cup. The Dutch Mule keeps the spirit of the original while softening it just enough to make it feel fresh and versatile for any casual sipping occasion.

Ingredients
- Ketel One Vodka45ml
- Lime juice20ml
- Simple syrup1 part sugar dissolved over heat into 1 part water20ml
- Ginger beer
- Ice
- Lime wedge1
- Sprig of mint1
Equipment
- Collins glass
- Spoon
Method
Step 1
Add ice to a Collins glass.
Step 2
Add in the vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup to the glass. Top with chilled ginger beer.
Step 3
Stir to combine. Garnish with a wedge of lime and fresh mint.
