John G. Martin's Original Moscow Mule Recipe

Smirnoff Moscow Mule Serve

Originally made using Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka, this simple mix of spice and citrus is one of the classics. Created by John G Martin and his bar owner friend Jack Morgan, it sparked the cocktail revolution in the 1950s.

What you’ll need

Ingredients

Serves:

1.9 units of alcohol per serving

Equipment

  • 1 x Highball glass
  • 1 x Knife
  • 1 x Jigger
  • 1 x Chopping Board
  • 1 x Ice

Method

Ice

Fill a highball glass or copper cup with ice cubes.

Pour

Using a jigger, measure 50ml vodka, 17.5ml lime juice, 120ml ginger beer and one dash of bitters into the glass.

Mix

Stir the mixture until well combined.

Garnish

With a sharp knife and cutting board, slice a wedge of lime and place in the drink to garnish.
