Penny Black Cocktail Recipe

This recipe takes the great mixing qualities of Scotch whisky and adds sour, sweet and bitter in the form of grapefruit, honey and a dash of bitters for a burst of flavours.

- Blended Scotch Whisky50ml
- Pink Grapefruit Juice25ml
- Honey Syrup25ml
- Lemon Juice10ml
- Bitters dash2
- Cherry1
2 units of alcohol per serving
Equipment
- 1 x Short glass
- 1 x Chopping board
- 1 x Jigger
- 1 x Ice
- 1 x Cocktail shaker
- 1 x Strainer
- 1 x Knife
Method
Ice
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
Pour
Using a jigger, pour 50ml Scotch Whisky, 25ml pink grapefruit juice, 25ml honey water and 10ml lemon juice into the shaker. Add 2 dashes of bitters.
Mix
Shake the mixture vigorously until the surface of the cocktail shaker feels chilled. Using a cocktail strainer, strain into a short glass.
Garnish
Place one cherry on top of the drink to garnish.
