Angus Collins Cocktail Recipe

A sour based on the huge peat-smoke that’s typical of southern Islay whisky. The powerful flavour, attractive garnishes and tasty mixers of this cocktail make it the ideal party serve.

What you’ll need

Ingredients

Serves:

  • Single Malt Whisky
    50ml
  • Sour Mix
    50ml
  • Carbonated Water
    25ml
  • Orange Juice
    17.5ml
  • Cherry
    1
  • Lemon Peel
    1
2 units of alcohol per serving

Equipment

  • 1 x Tall glass
  • 1 x Bar spoon
  • 1 x Jigger
  • 1 x Knife
  • 1 x Chopping Board
  • 1 x Crushed ice
  • 1 x Stirrer

Method

Ice

Fill a cocktail shaker with cubes of ice.

Pour

Using a jigger, measure 50ml Single Malt Whisky, 50ml sour mix and 17.5ml orange juice into the shaker.

Mix

Shake the mixture vigorously until the surface of the cocktail shaker feels chilled. Use a cocktail strainer to strain the liquid into a tall glass filled with crushed ice. Top up with 25ml of carbonated water.

Garnish

Use a sharp knife to cut a strip of lemon peel on a chopping board and twist onto the rim of the glass, along with one cherry to garnish.
