Tasting notes

Sweet agave branch
Nose
An aroma of melted butter, kettle corn, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, coffee, and baking chocolate.
Spicy oak
Taste
On the palate are rich flavors of tropical fruit, apricot, brown sugar, sweet tea with lemon, and smoked chilis.

Original and authentic

From grain to glass

In 2008, Balcones was nothing more than an idea driven by a passion to create something original and authentic in the Heart of Texas. It all started in an old welding shop under a bridge in Waco. Balcones began distilling in 2009.

Ingredients matter. Balcones has always sought out ingredient for their richness in flavor. From blue corn grown in New Mexico to the first Texas-grown malted barley, it aims to get the most out of raw materials to make a better whiskey.
