The Midnight Mint cocktail is an extremely luxurious and sophisticated drink using a combination of ingredients to produce a perfectly balanced, complex flavoured concoction that is stylish. With its exquisite, typically ivory-greenish hue and fresh mint garnish, it is also visually stunning in appearance. A suitable choice for upscale parties, it embodies oozes refinement and charm.

  • Smirnoff vodka (or any other vodka of choice)
    10ml
  • Irish cream liqueur
    15ml
  • Mint liqueur
    5ml
  • Ice cubes, for shaking
  • Fresh mint leaf
    For garnish

Method

  1. Step 1

    Chill a coupe or martini cocktail glass completely by placing it in the freezer or filling and discarding ice water.

  2. Step 2

    In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, Irish cream liqueur and mint liqueur.

  3. Step 3

    Fill the shaker with ice cubes, secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until thoroughly chilled.

  4. Step 4

    Double-strain the silky mixture into a chilled glass and garnish with a fresh mint leaf before serving immediately.

Tips & Suggestions

  • Before adding ice, give the liqueurs and vodka a quick dry shake (no ice) for 2-3 seconds to aerate the cream slightly, resulting in a smoother, more uniform texture when ice is added.

  • Instead of a mere mint leaf, use a fine grater to sprinkle a small quantity of high-quality dark chocolate or a smashed chocolate-mint wafer on top for an extra layer of luxurious scent.
