A bit of history
John Thompson created the distillery in 1898, and it is managed by the Knockando-Glenlivet Distillery Company. The property was created by renowned Whisky architect Charles Doig. The distillery's name is derived from the Gaelic 'Cnoc-an-dhu,' which means 'small black hill,' and is most likely a reference to the hills that surround the location.
