Gimlet

A drink that used to be gin and roses lime cordial has turned into a category of its own now, with bartenders using fresh fruits to create any flavoured cordial to either shake or stir up with gin. Simple yet oh-so-delicious, this classic cocktail is a great drink if you want to ease yourself into Martinis.

Ingredients

  • 60mlGin

  • 25mlFresh lime juice

  • 25mlSimple syrup

  • 1eaCucumber wheel or lime wedge

  • 4Ice

2.4 units of alcohol per serve

Equipment

  • Chilled coupe or martini glass

  • Shaker

  • Bar spoon

Method

  • Add

    Add the ice, gin, lime juice, and simple syrup to a shaker.

  • Mix

    Mix vigorously with a bar spoon until very cold.

  • Serve

    Strain and pour into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish and serve right away.

  • 1:1 Simple syrup recipe

    Stir 1 part white sugar to 1 part warm or boiling water until the sugar is dissolved. Cool before use.
