Summer Blossom

Floral with a hint of fruit and bergamot – that’s Summer Blossom, full of the hopes and flavours of the early warm months. Enjoy gin with a spot of elderflower mixed with cloudy apple juice and syrup made from Earl Grey tea to conjure up this quirky mix.

What you’ll need

Ingredients

Serves:
1
  • Gin
    40ml
  • Sauvignon Blanc
    20ml
  • Cloudy Apple Juice
    20ml
  • Earl Grey Syrup
    15ml
  • Elderflower Sprig
    1
1.7 units of alcohol per serving

Equipment

  • 1 x Strainer
  • 1 x Jigger
  • 1 x Sieve
  • 1 x Cocktail Shaker
  • 1 x Coupe glass

Method

Step 1

Fill a cocktail shaker with cubes of ice.

Step 2

Using a jigger, measure 40ml gin with a spot of elderflower, 20ml Sauvignon Blanc, 20ml cloudy apple juice and 15ml Earl Grey syrup into the shaker.

Step 3

Shake the mixture vigorously in the cocktail shaker until the surface of the shaker feels chilled. Strain the liquid into a Coupe glass through both a cocktail strainer and sieve. This is to remove any trace of ice or solids, and is a technique known as ‘double straining’.

Garnish

Place a sprig of elderflower on top of the drink to garnish.
