Smoky Halloween Colada Cocktail Recipe

A spooky concoction that balances fruity, coconutty and zesty flavours with smooth Casamigos Mezcal Joven. Top with black lava (or Himalayan salt) for a Halloween-ready serve, or opt for a regular salt/sugar garnish for a delicious year-round cocktail.

- Casamigos Mezcal45ml
- Fresh lime juice25ml
- Fresh pineapple juice25ml
- Coconut puree25ml
- Grenadine15ml
- Ginger syrup10ml
- 2:1 ratio of black lava or Himalayan salt / sugar
- Charred dehydrated orange wheel to garnish
- Lime wedge to garnish
1.8 units of alcohol per serving
Equipment
- Tiki or hurricane glass
- Jigger
- Cocktail shaker
- Cocktail strainer
- Knife and chopping board
Method
Step 1
Wet ½ rim of a clear Tiki or hurricane glass with lime wheel or wedge and dip into salt mixture.
Step 2
Pour grenadine directly into glass, then fill glass with fresh pebble/crushed ice. Using a jigger, combine the rest of the ingredients into a tin shaker, add ice, shake vigorously and strain into glass.
Step 3
Top off with pebble/crushed ice, creating a dome-like top, and garnish.
