Smoky Halloween Colada Cocktail Recipe

Casamigos Colada

A spooky concoction that balances fruity, coconutty and zesty flavours with smooth Casamigos Mezcal Joven. Top with black lava (or Himalayan salt) for a Halloween-ready serve, or opt for a regular salt/sugar garnish for a delicious year-round cocktail.

  • Casamigos Mezcal
    45ml
  • Fresh lime juice
    25ml
  • Fresh pineapple juice
    25ml
  • Coconut puree
    25ml
  • Grenadine
    15ml
  • Ginger syrup
    10ml
  • 2:1 ratio of black lava or Himalayan salt / sugar
  • Charred dehydrated orange wheel to garnish
  • Lime wedge to garnish
1.8 units of alcohol per serving

Equipment

  • Tiki or hurricane glass
  • Jigger
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Knife and chopping board

Method

Step 1

Wet ½ rim of a clear Tiki or hurricane glass with lime wheel or wedge and dip into salt mixture.

Step 2

Pour grenadine directly into glass, then fill glass with fresh pebble/crushed ice. Using a jigger, combine the rest of the ingredients into a tin shaker, add ice, shake vigorously and strain into glass.

Step 3

Top off with pebble/crushed ice, creating a dome-like top, and garnish.
