01. Rum Old Fashioned
Why have a standard Old Fashioned, when you can mix it up with a great, aged rum? Try this version with a different base, sugar and bitters for a new twist on an iconic cocktail.
You'll need:
50ml Ron Zacapa 23 Rum
2 dashes of chocolate bitters
Dark sugar syrup
Ice cubes
A twist of grapefruit
To make:
Stir all ingredients with ice and pour over fresh cubes in an Old Fashioned glass
Garnish with a twist of grapefruit, serve and enjoy
02. Apple Highball
This is an easy long drink to serve for any occasion. You can pretty much use any base spirit, but we prefer it with rum.
You'll need:
45ml rum
60ml freshly pressed apple juice
90ml carbonated tonic water
Lemon twist or slices of apple
To make:
Add all ingredients to a Collins glass with ice, finishing with the tonic water (you can choose to substitute the tonic with ginger ale or ginger beer if you prefer)
Stir just to combine and garnish with a lemon twist or slice of apple
03. Mojito
Ah, the Mojito. A popular cocktail and for a good reason. Fresh mint meets lime, rum and sugar. What’s not to love?
You'll need:
45ml white rum
20ml lime juice
20ml 1:1 simple syrup
6 mint leaves + 1 nice sprig for garnish
To make:
Hold the mint leaves to the palm of your hand and slap with the other hand (like a clap!)
Tear the leaves and add them to a Collins glass
Add the rum, lime and sugar, then stir with your spoon
Add some ice and stir again
Top up with chilled sparkling water or club soda and stir to combine
Finish with a mint sprig
04. Caipirinha
A delicious take on the classic Caipirinha cocktail, this rum Caipirinha cocktail blends dark rum with zingy lime and sugar.
You'll need:
50ml dark rum
1 tsp sugar
Three lime wedges
To make:
Using your knife, cut three lime wedges and place them into the rocks glass, together with the sugar.
Press down on the lime wedges with the muddler, then top up the glass with ice.
Measuring with the jigger, add the rum into the glass and gently stir.
Top with more ice and add a lime wedge to garnish.
