Rounded, soft, oaky notes are cut through with lemony citrus in this classic old-timer: the Whiskey Sour is a rye whiskey or bourbon-based version of one of the world’s most famous cocktails.

- Lemon juice0.75oz
- Sugar syrup0.75oz
- Dash of Angostura Bitters1
- Egg white1
- Lemon peel1
- Maraschino cherry1
- Ice
Equipment
- Rocks glass
- Jigger
- Cocktail shaker
- Strainer
- Chopping board
- Knife
Method
Pour
Using a jigger, measure all ingredients and pour into your cocktail shaker without ice.
Shake
Close your shaker and dry shake to whip up the mixture. Open the shaker, add ice, then shake again until cold.
Garnish
Strain the mixture into the glass with ice. Using your knife, cut a lemon peel and place it on a skewer along with a maraschino cherry for garnish.
