The Sazerac is not just a drink - it's an explosion of bold, complex flavors, a tantalizing tango of a feisty mix of whiskey, absinthe, a sugar cube, and bitters topped up with Lemon Zest!

  • Bulleit Bourbon
    1.5oz
  • Cognac
    0.75oz
  • Bitters
    2 dashes
  • Simple syrup
    0.5oz
  • Rince of Absinthe
  • Lemon Zest Discard
    To garnish

Equipment

  • Rocks glass
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Mixing glass
  • Strainer

Method

Step 1

Add all the ingredients to an ice-filled mixing glass.

Step 2

Stir to mix, chill and dilute.

Step 3

Strain into an Absinthe-rinsed rocks glass.

Step 4

Garnish with lemon zest discard.

Revel in the audacious spirit of the Sazerac, a spicy symphony in your glass.

Simple Syrup


Ingredients
  • 8 oz. Granulated Sugar

  • 8 oz. Water

Directions
  1. In a medium size pot, heat the sugar and water for 15-20 minutes on a low simmer until the sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally to prevent caking.

  2. Once sugar is dissolved, remove from heat.

  3. Pour into a container for storage, and label, date and refrigerate for later use. Good for 3 months. Yields 14 oz. of simple syrup.
