Inspired by the classic Rob Roy, The Nanking Accord is a spirit-forward cocktail that balances elegance with savoury depth. Built with Johnnie Walker Black Label, sweet vermouth, and a house-made umami cordial, the drink brings together smoke, spice, and rich umami flavours in a refined and modern way.

What you’ll need

Ingredients

Serves:

  • Johnnie Walker Black Label
    45ml
  • Vermouth Rosso
    20ml
  • Umami Cordial
    15ml
  • Smoky Bitters
    A dash
  • 20% Saline Soluion
    A few drops

Method

  1. Step 1

    Chill a Chinese ceramic bowl before serving.

  2. Step 2

    Add Johnnie Walker Black Label, vermouth rosso, umami cordial, bitters, and saline into a mixing glass.

  3. Step 3

    Fill with ice and stir gently for 18–22 seconds until chilled and balanced.

  4. Step 4

    Fine strain into the chilled ceramic bowl. Serve neat.
