The drink became particularly popular in the mid-20th century and remains widely chosen for its straightforward technique and versatility. This functional preparation is a precisely made cocktail served in bars and restaurants as common preference, typically featuring a balanced profile, offering a traditional flavour that is structured and distinct.

What you’ll need

    30ml

    15ml
  • Lime cordial
    10ml

  • Ice cubes

Method

  1. Step 1

Combine the gin, fresh lime juice and lime cordial in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

  3. Step 3

Garnish with a lime wheel for a crisp citrus finish.

Tips & Suggestions

  • Use crystal-clear ice for shaking to avoid dilution from cloudy or brittle cubes that melt too quickly.

  • If batching the drink, store the mixed blend in a chilled bottle and stir before pouring to restore balance.
