Benrinnes 21 Year Old Special Release 2024 Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl

The orchestra takes centre stage for a sensory symphony. Thunderous flavour. Extravagant richness. Booming fruitiness, with the resounding bass line of double maturation.

This 21-year-old expression has been matured in refill casks for 15 years, followed by a 6-year second maturation in rejuvenated American and European oak wine casks, as well as rejuvenated casks with charred ends. An intentional complexity that bursts with swelling crescendo: a fruity melody of over-ripe dark fruit, stewed pear, smashed fig and caramelised apple reverberates on the palate.

A grand and opulent expression, transcending the ordinary with layers of big, bold, over-the-top flavour.

Deep amber, with rose lights. Good beading and good legs.

PALATE

Sweet and richly fruity, becomes deliciously sweet-savoury, with a lick of salt amid spicy intensity.

FINISH

Quite long, finishing smoothly dry and lightly spicy, and lightly mouth-cooling.
