The Ciroc equinox cocktail is a stunning representation of spring flavours, wonderfully embodying the season’s vibrancy. With just a few ingredients, the drink has a significant complexity which provides a balanced blend of citrus, sweetness and a unique herbal scent. Garnished with a sprig of fresh herbs, its crisp finish makes for an excellent choice to serve at outdoor gatherings or seasonal festivities.

What you’ll need

Ingredients

Serves:
1
  • Ciroc Ultra-Premium vodka (or any vodka of choice)
    30ml
  • Rosemary-infused agave nectar
    20ml
  • Fresh lemon juice
    25ml
  • Ice cubes
    For shaking

Method

  1. Step 1

Place a martini cocktail or coupe glass in the freezer to chill it thoroughly.

  2. Step 2

In a cocktail shaker, add the vodka, herbed agave nectar and lemon juice.

  3. Step 3

Add ice cubes to the shaker, secure the top and vigorously shake for 15-20 seconds until the surface is well cooled and frosted.

  4. Step 4

    Strain into a chilled glass.

  5. Step 5

For an aromatic touch, garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and serve immediately.

Tips & Suggestions

  • To make rosemary-infused agave, gently warm up the nectar with fresh rosemary sprigs until lukewarm and steep for at least 30 minutes, or longer for a more assertive flavour. Strain well before chilling.

  • Instead of just laying a rosemary sprig, lightly slap it between the palms just before garnishing to release aromatic oils, which considerably improve the drink’s fragrance bouquet.

FAQs

Amateur mixologists can simply combine vodka with soda, tonic or juice, such as cranberry or orange. Start with 1 part vodka and 2-3 parts mixer, according to preference; serve over ice with a citrus garnish.

Agave syrup is also known as agave nectar. Both words refer to the natural sweetener produced from the agave plant, which is commonly used as a sugar substitute in beverages and foods.

Rosemary blends wonderfully with gin, vodka and whisky, particularly bourbon or rye. Its woody, grassy characteristics complement the flavours of these spirits, providing aromatic depth to drinks.
