Thoroughly chill a coupe glass by placing it in the freezer.

  2. Step 2

In a cocktail shaker, add the blanco tequila, spiced citrus liqueur, fresh lemon juice, agave nectar and desert pear syrup.

Add ice cubes to the shaker, secure the cover and firmly shake for 15-20 seconds or until fully cooled and frosted.

  4. Step 4

Double-strain the mixture into a chilled glass, garnish with a fresh lime wedge and serve immediately.

Tips & Suggestions

  • Agave nectar and desert pear syrup can have different consistencies. If they are particularly viscous, gently heat them (separately and briefly) in a lukewarm water bath before measuring, to facilitate smooth integration when shaken.

  • For an elevated touch, make a rim of granulated sugar mixed with a pinch of finely powdered lime zest to provide a fragrant and subtly zesty contrast.

FAQs

Tequila pairs well with a variety of ingredients, including lime juice, grapefruit soda (paloma cocktail), orange juice (tequila sunrise cocktail) and soda water. It also works well with a variety of fruit purees and spicy ingredients to create unique drinks.

A spiced liqueur is an alcoholic ingredient flavoured with spices such as cinnamon, clove, nutmeg or allspice - offering scent and nuanced flavour characteristics, commonly used to elevate drinks.

Agave nectar and honey are not the same; the nectar is a syrup collected from the agave plant, whereas honey is made by bees from floral nectar, with differing flavour characteristics.
