Tips & Suggestions
Consider using just the egg yolk rather than a whole egg for unsurpassed richness and a velvety mouthfeel. This adds creaminess without the potential ‘eggy’ aroma of the white.
To infuse a more authentic spice flavour, slowly reheat a small amount of milk with the vanilla pod (or extract) and a piece of cinnamon stick, soak for 15 minutes and chill thoroughly before mixing.
FAQs
Traditional eggnog contains brandy, rum (particularly dark or spiced) or bourbon. Irish whisky and Irish cream liqueurs make an excellent pairing, adding rich, creamy overtones.
