Three glasses of whiskey with ice are surrounded by ice cubes, with splashes and droplets of liquid in motion against a dark background.

Inspired by the five Chinese elements — fire, water, earth, wood and metal — this curated collection of cocktails will speak to a different part of your palate. These simple recipes can all be made with easily-found ingredients, and Diageo’s finest spirits. Let’s dive in!

Water — Texas Ranch Water

A simple cocktail that is a classic cowboy drink, Ranch Water is sure to refresh you and help fight the heat. We’re sharing a recipe that serves two.

Ingredients

90 ml Don Julio tequila (Blanco or Reposado)

140 ml sparkling water

Take a rocks glass filled with ice, and add the tequila and lime juice to it. Add the sparkling water till the glass is full or to preference, and garnish with a lime wedge.

Earth — Whisky & Coke

We don’t think there are many better ways to taste the flavours of earth than the notes of our very own Johnnie Walker scotch. However, if you are looking for a little variety, a classic whisky and cola rarely fails. This recipe serves one.

Ingredients

60 ml Johnnie Walker Black Label (or pick your favourite from our collection)

120 ml chilled cola

Dash of lemon juice (optional)

Fill a highball glass halfway with ice and pour the scotch into it. Slowly add the cola to preserve the fizz. Add a dash of lemon juice for an extra layer of flavor.
