India is home to a wide audience of whisky connoisseurs and a number of interesting homegrown blends for them to sample. A whisky which exemplifies luxury, sophistication and good taste, Antiquity Blue is known for its deep golden hue and its unique flavour, which would set the spirit apart at a tasting experience.

The deep blue colour of the bottle and its slightly circular shape are what make the presentation of the whisky stand out. And what’s more, Antiquity Blue also offers much to its patrons in terms of a liquor alternative immersed in local storytelling, with a flavour profile that seamlessly embodies several regional ingredients. If that’s not enough, Indian bartenders experimenting with regional ingredients are also incorporating Antiquity Blue more and more in their mixology experiments as a result of its sheer compatibility with local produce.

Flavours, Appearance And More

The liquor borrows flavour and depth from this rich legacy of whisky-making, while nonetheless remaining rooted in the local narratives of Indian malts and blend whiskies that go into its making.

Right from the blue bottle to the golden yellow, semi-transparent liquid inside, Antiquity Blue is all about elegance. The whisky’s rich colour, inspired by the hue of antique gold, is supplemented by tasting notes that are malty, slightly woody and fruity, with a moderate body and smooth effect. The whisky has a woody and sweet texture, with an aftertaste or finish that is slightly malty and again, lightly woody, coupled with subtle spice and a hint of fruity and vanilla notes.

What makes this whisky an excellent addition to luxe cocktails is its versatility, which comes from its very smooth yet robust character. The whisky’s malty flavours, coupled with its subtle smokiness, make it an excellent base spirit for mixing highballs and flavoured old-fashioned. Yet what makes Antiquity Blue stand out is the way in which it blends with local, regional ingredients, which in turn adds a luxurious edge to your home hosting endeavours.

Indian Ingredients And Modern Mixing

Today, Indian bartenders are deeply invested in exploring the potential of local, seasonal ingredients in crafting cocktails. What this requires is a spirit that can finely balance the flavours of this regional produce with its own flair to produce interesting blends. This is where Antiquity Blue becomes the chosen spirit among bartenders.

Its roots in regional grain whiskies and local terroir lend this whisky a desi touch that couples brilliantly with myriad local ingredients used for blending contemporary Indian mixes. Here are three such recipes which incorporate regional ingredients to prepare dynamic cocktails:
