5 Classic Herb and Tequila Cocktails with a Twist of Nature

When it comes to the world of spirits, the intriguing combination of herbs and the bold flavours of Scotch Whisky and Single Malt has always captivated us. However, there's another spirit that beautifully complements herbs - Tequila. Don Julio Tequila, with its smooth character, provides a canvas for herbs to showcase their vibrant essence. Here are five tequila cocktails infused with herbs that are sure to soothe your taste buds.

Rosemary Bliss Margarita

The Rosemary Bliss Margarita is an embodiment of simplicity and refinement. The woody aroma of rosemary combined with the fresh citrusy flavour of lime creates a balance that perfectly complements the velvety smoothness of Don Julio Tequila.

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Don Julio Tequila

  • 15 ml Orange Liqueur

  • 30 ml Fresh Lime Juice

  • 1 tsp Agave Syrup

  • Fresh Sprigs of Rosemary

  • Ice

  • Salt for rimming

Method:

1. Rim your glass with salt. 2. Gently muddle a sprig of rosemary in a shaker. 3. Add tequila orange liqueur, lime juice, agave syrup and ice, to the shaker. Shake well. 4. Pour the mixture into the glass. 5. Decorate with a sprig of rosemary.

Basil & Cucumber Cooler

This cocktail is both fresh and invigorating, blending cucumber with basil. Combined with the lightness of Don Julio Tequila, it becomes the perfect beverage for evenings.

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Don Julio Tequila

  • 60 ml Cucumber Juice

  • 15 ml Lime Juice

  • 10 ml Simple Syrup

  • Ice

Method:

1. Crush the basil leaves in a shaker. 2. Add tequila, cucumber juice, lime juice, simple syrup and ice to the shaker. 3. Shake vigorously. Strain into a glass. 4. Garnish your drink, with a slice of cucumber and a basil leaf.

Lavender Paloma

Adding a twist to the Paloma, this cocktail brings a floral touch by incorporating lavender. The soothing scent of this herb complements the tanginess of grapefruit and the smoothness of Don Julio Tequila.

Method:

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Don Julio Tequila

  • 90 ml Orange Juice

  • 15 ml Grenadine Syrup

  • Fresh Thyme Leaves

  • Ice Cubes

  • Orange Slice for garnish

Method:

1. Lightly crush a few thyme leaves in a glass. 2. Put some ice into the glass, pour in tequila and orange juice. 3. Gently add grenadine. Let it settle down. 4. Decorate the drink with a slice of orange and a sprig of thyme.

Minty Agave Julep

This delightful cocktail infuses the Mint Julep with tequila resulting in a harmony of flavours. The smoothness of Don Julio Tequila is enhanced by the crispness of mint and the sweetness of syrup.
