Negroni

With Mediterranean herbs, and a hint of orange and gin botanicals, the Negroni recipe is full of flavour – and history. This classic Italian cocktail is loved by bartenders for its subtle bitterness and use of vermouth.

  • 25mlTanqueray London Dry Gin

  • 25mlSweet Vermouth

  • 25mlSweet Italian Aperitif Bitters

  • Citrus for garnish (choose from orange, lemon or grapefruit)

  • Ice

Equipment

  • 1 x Rocks glass
  • 1 x Chopping board
  • 1 x Jigger
  • 1 x Bar spoon
  • 1 x Strainer

Method

  • Pour

    Using a jigger, measure 25ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin, 25ml Sweet Vermouth and 25ml Sweet Italian Aperitif Bitters into an iced-filled mixing glass.

  • Mix

    Stir with a bar spoon until the ingredients are well combined. Using a cocktail strainer, strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice cubes.

  • Garnish

    With a sharp knife and a chopping board, cut a piece of your citrus of choice. Peel and twist over the rim of the glass to garnish.

  • Grab a bite

    Get some grub in before or while you’re drinking – it slows alcohol absorption.
