Buchanan's Scotch Whisky
In 1879, James Buchanan, a successful agent for whisky merchants and blenders, learned his trade and went into business for himself. At the time, most blended Scotch whiskies were too immature and fierce for the taste of drinkers who were entering the world of Scotch. Buchanan had a vision to "find a blend sufficiently light and mature to please the palate of the user." Combining older, more mature whiskies with a deep understanding of his clientele, he created subtle, flavorful blends that became the Buchanan's family of whiskies, which have been supplied to British Parliament and royalty for nearly 100 years.
