Rosenblum Cellars England Shaw Vineyard Syrah, Solano County 2006

Rosenblum Cellars England Shaw Vineyard Syrah, Solano County

These beautiful vineyards sit on a hilltop 20 miles east of Napa Valley and are planted to a mystery clone of Syrah. The trellis is a two-wire traditional system with spacing of eight by ten feet. These low yielding vineyards produce approximately one-and-a-half-tons-per acre of intensely flavored fruit.

Tasting Notes

The grapes were hand harvested at a very ripe state and crushed into stainless steel tanks and small open-top fermentors. To add character and nuance, this wine benefited from Rosenblum Cellars’ cutting edge barrel and yeast programs, which include over 55 coopers from around the world and 30 strains of yeast. The wine was aged in 60-gallon French and American oak barrels designed especially for Syrah.

Food Pairings

Pair this wine with darker meats like beef or lamb.
