Tasting Notes

Chalone thinks of Syrah as 'super' Pinot Noir, so they take great care to prevent excessive harsh tannins in the wine. This Syrah has intense blackberry and cherry fruit aromas with ripe, soft tannins and a lengthy finish.

Food Pairings

This wine’s intense flavors and supple tannins make it a natural with rich meats such as rosemary garlic rack of lamb, roasted duck with grilled vegetables or a hearty beef stew.
